I couldn't agree more about the hairstyles. While I enjoy extreme hairstyle choices, the "known" basic ones should always be in the game as an option before adding exotic styles imo.

I agree completely. I actually didn't mind GW2's hairstyles, though perhaps that's just because I was happy they had long hair and their more odd styles actually appealed to me. I think one of the worst offenders in recent history was SWTOR. It looked like it had lots of options, but once you subtracted the classic Star Wars hairstyles (which did need to be there) and several different kinds of mohawks and bald women (which didn't), all that was left were a couple of bobs and a couple of ponytails. Since most of the female characters used the same hairstyles, pretty much everyone's hair looked alike.

I played the norn in GW2 and they had virtually no long hairstyles except those that were tied up or were very bizarre. It was a sad day for this character creation fanatic. D:

Again, that's kinda why I liked the body type in GW2. It ment I could have a female that look small and tiny and flat chested (it was a sylvari), rather than the my breasts get there ten minutes before I do alternative.

Eeee... I made my Sylvari similar, except she was tall and thin and flat chested. I lovingly called her my "twig".

I suppose I should add my two cents in that I hope there will be something that will allow for, if not total body, then at least chest size customization. If it happens I forsee a lot of top-heavy characters, but I would love to build my tom-boyish Aurin that I've been making in my head without the body of a porn star.

I like to see a good range of short and long hairstyles, personally.

So far, I have noticed Wildstar does really good at not allowing items to clip body parts or objects rarely if at all. The problem with long hair is most MMOs are not able to pull it off without the hair clipping through the shoulders.

So basically, if Wildstar adds long hair I hope they do it right.

I actually agree. I kinda prefer that look too. Sorta androgynous kinda thing. Female, but not too curvy and rather flat chested. Could go either way. :) That's what I like. Sadly I doubt that will be an option but I will try to get as close as possible. :)

Oddly enough, clipping bothers me not at all. Oh, clipping armor bugs me, but I can imagine away hair clipping through armor, or explain in my head why my hair can clip through a helmet.

I do despise a lack of options, however. Especially short styles. Most short hairstyles look atrocious, despite the fact that it's fairly common IRL, on both genders, because it's so utilitarian. I want some long, feral locks for my male aurin, mind, but if I make a mustered-out soldier spellslinger, I'd like to keep some decorum without the only decent option being a high and tight.

I love GW2 hair, especially how they move when you run or attack. In WoW it's all so static.

I want long hair VARIETY and I'd also like some creative selections in the"partially-shaved" category. It's getting a little ridiculous that games haven't embraced more punk hairstyles. I should have no trouble making a Tank Girl-like character in this day and age. But very few games give you any creative , especially concerning female avatars.

I love body sliders. I agree with previous posters; I should be able to make a female character without having to feel like the avatar's primary use is sexual attraction. There's nothing wrong with pretty characters, but give me the renders and options to make pretty and realize that how I choose. Busty women are everywhere. But so are gorgeous, more conservatively curvy women.

Do you have any pics that you could share of cool punk hairstyles?

Does anyone know if there is a dreadlock or Mohawk hairstyle?

It's a game made in the last 20 years, of course there'll be a Mohawk...

A more interesting question would be if Carbine is adding a variety of Mohawks. Because I am sure they will be popular and I doubt PC players prefer generic console options. Otherwise they would be playing a console game.

I hope there is a large amount of hairstyles to pick from, GW2 had some nice customization in certain aspects but I could never find a hairstyle I liked in that game. >.<

So far the character customization looks really well done, something you can either breeze through in 30 seconds and get a good looking character or spend a lot more time customizing almost every aspect of them aside from a few things haha. ^^

Hopefully they will add a few more options as far as body customization goes though.

A deal breaker for a lot of games for me is if the character customisation lacks depth. I hope to see plenty of hairstyles which reflect both conservative and wild types of hair and also a mix of short and long styles for male and female. I also would like to see plenty of colour choices for hairstyles so that not everyone looks exactly identical.
I would love to see a height slider so I can make my aurin female childlike in stature, but I'll survive if it isn't included.
I'm hoping we also get skin colour options as that could really allow some variance in player characters.

I look at options as always being a good thing, those who dislike spending hours customising can choose a preset and get stuck into the game. If you have few options, those who want to have a personal character that is unique are denied a pivotal aspect of their gaming experience. Those who dislike customisation are not affected by having lots of custom options, but those who like to customise are affected by not having options in game. By having advanced options there but also offering presets, everyone wins.

Agree! Only one change for me: I think height slider and body type are essential to make your char even more like you want him to be. If you are a RP player or if you want to be a freaking huge warrior or a small thin aurin spellslinger. I think that is a required part of wat makes a char truly yours.

I'm really looking forward the complete character creation. I have high expectations of this game and if it lacks height and body type modification... I don't know if I'll be playing it.

Yeah that would be cool, it would fit them really well too. One of my favorite game races is the Charr from Guild Wars 2, they have legs like that and they run on all fours. It just looks really good in my opinion.
