If they do add flying mounts, then taxi should be as fast as the fastest. Paying for convenience.
Do believe they said flying mounts were in yes? Suppose it should move the subject along to how to not make them ruin gameplay?
Flying is most certainly in!
That is just flight for movement. It doesn't necessarily mean mounts. In fact it seems like it is suggesting flight for the character itself, like Superman, not riding something that flies. However, it comes down to the same thing as far as concerns.
It says "flying/flying mounts". It could still be situational flying mounts, I guess.
Ah, I was looking at this part:
I somehow totally missed the statement before it.
I think flying mounts could be a great addition to a game if it is created around that. But I believe that is already said before. The games in the past or even the current ones I played the flying mounts were an addition to an existing game. And that destroyed a big chunk of the game play.
I get the impression that Carbine thinks things over properly. They are probing the community for ideas and suggestions. They iterate and fine tune constantly. But we have to wait and see how flying mounts will work in the game. But I have hope.
My take on the info I have read is yes they will be in at least for max level toons, but it really is conjecture so far.
Since you apparently can get houses at level 6/7 ish I doubt we'll need them to get to our house. Maybe to get to other peoples though...
to clarify... 'uninvited'
Heh imagine building your house etc and then launching it up into the sky before realising...crud I can't fly yet....
That would both suck, and be amusing
Or imagine you can't pay for the upkeep anymore and it crashes down back to the ground, destroying 3 houses along with it!
What if they add flying mounts and flying enemies who can attack you while flying? or only making flying availeble in certain zones and events?
After watching the recent gameplay videos - its fairly obvious just how much they have designed the game around flying.
I don't think we have anything to worry about
Going to agree with Billco. They have made several comments on flying mounts along with the mention of epic mounts. Nothing on any kind of flying combat though that I remember.
There has been mention of mounts with abilities, though. That could be combat abilities or it could be something else entirely.
Since using vehicles for combat fits into the came category of thoughts of using environment for combat perks, it is not farfetched to expect combat vehicles.
Only if it isn't a rail shooter.
still doesn't solve the problem of jumping puzzles, the world feeling smaller and hardly encountering players as you are travelling
