Are the Exiles like the Alliance of WoW? And the Dominion the Horde?
Must ... report ...
It's just a question..
Think of them more related to Star Wars films. Exiles = Rebels and Dominion = Empire at least from the Human vs Cassian point of view. My 2 cents on the matter anyway.
Ok never watched Star Wars, but know a little about it.
Don't know if i'm correct but the Empire are the bad guys right?
And the Rebels are not bad, but also not good?
He says this....because people on here are getting sick of that question Aswell as with the class comparisons of WoW and WS.
Cartoonish look + 2 factions doesn't mean it is comparible to WoW.
Someone here made a comparison to Warhammer 40k which I think was WAY better and on point then with anything WoW related
It is, but there are many threads discussing this topic already. For instance, http://www.wildstar-central.com/ind...d-the-good-team-again.5013/page-7#post-174757 is a thread currently going on that discusses this topic to an extent that isn't healthy for those involved.
There's a search function that you could have used so that your first post on the website wouldn't end up in a locked thread. In the future, you could also use the "What's New" button to see if any current topic might have the information you're looking for.
Welcome to WildStar Central. Here is a link to the Personal Introductions Forum. You are not required to post there but doing so is a good way to meet some of our friendliest members. Tell Kat I said hi.
I don't think the two factions in WildStar are analogous to WoW's factions. The Exile's are in search of a new home world. They want Nexus to be that world. Some in the Dominion (Cassians and maybe Mechari) see Nexus as their birthright, their Garden of Eden, if you will.
If you looked hard, you could see any number of real (Roman Empire) and fictional organizations as inspirations for the Dominion, less so for the Exiles. The Alliance and the Independents from Firefly, influencing the Dominion and the Exiles respectively, is probably a lot closer than WoW's factions. But that is still a far from perfect comparison.
Well I think it's WAY better then WoW's because I really liked his comparison (Dominion with the Empire of Men).
It could really fit! I won't exactly try to rewrite what he said, but it was really fitting for the Dominion. Way more then any horde or alliance could do.
Link me the post if you know where it is, por favor.
Took me some while to find it again, but here ya go:
Eh Meh Gerrrrrrrrrrrrrd!
Stop comparing Wildstar to other games, they don't have to be like something else, why not just read the lore and such and get to know them! >.<
Sorry.. ~Takes a deep breath~ This thing of comparing is just getting beyond a joke now..
For once i agree with you.. and it sickens me.. haha
Republicans and Democrats is a good way to look at em, pick your poison and someone will still insult you for the choice you made.
But now that I think about it Alliance vs Independents from Firefly makes a lot of sense. Browncoat Spell Slingers unite!
Here's a link to MrJayBob's full comment for anyone interested.
Kind of rude.. Hes just asking a question. Yes its asked everyday, but not everyone knows that.
But we are more interested in your view on this comparison to Warhammer, instead of the link....(you never give your opinion..... but links....I want your opinion!!!)
What do you think?
Sorry, I find this rather ironic, since WoW is based on Warhammer.
We have gone full circle...
But since we are already there:
Exile Humans = Space Pirates ( yeah, its old school Games Workshop)
Aurin = Eldar? This is hard, because WH40k is all grim-dark.
Granok = Nothin'. There is nothing like them in 40k.
Mordesh = Good Necrons? WTF, this is not working...
Yeah, Wildstar has pretty unique races for a change.... part of its charm.
I'm pretty sure people keep asking this comparison because the Exiles are associated with the color blue and the Dominion are associated with the color red.
Initially, I know that sounds dumb but deep down... we all know it's a contributing factor.
