As the title says, whats your favorite RPG series overall?
    Ex: Final Fantasy Series

As for me when I was young it used to be FF, but not so much the last few years. My favorite series have to be the Star Ocean series and the Tales of series. What about you guys?

FFVII stole my heart and never returned it!........

Other FF's were awesome too, so FF for sure! But FFVII holds a special place...

They made movies and animes of VII, just try to beat that!!!!

They just made more material to quell my thirst for FF during that time :D

I've played most JRPGs and it would have to be the Tales of series for me. Xillia recently beat out Eternia as my favorite too.

Also FFIV and IX are my favorite Final Fantasy games seeing how you two were talking about it.

I like you already. ^^ Ya Xillia for me is now my favorite for the tales of series as well(can not wait for Tales of Xillia 2 sometime this year!), except it beat out Graces instead of Eternia for me. Still though Pascal is my favorite tales of character if ya havent noticed by my user name and avatar lol.

Haha you have great tastes seeing how Pascal is also my favorites Tales character (even if she doesn't bathe). I also can't wait for Xillia 2 and I am also looking forward to playing Symphonia again for its HD release on the PS3. :D

Ya I got that pre-ordered as well. Cant wait to play that too. ^^

I liked KH a lot to, at first when it came out I wasn't to sure, but once I played it it was a very good game/series. As for Ratchet and Clank. Never got into that one myself.

The original Ultima series, 4-6. I loved the complete world freedom, you could travel anywhere on the planet.

One of my favorites was the Quest for Glory series (originally Hero's Quest) by Sierra. It had few actual RPG elements, more of a RPG/adventure hybrid. However, solving the puzzles as the different classes was fun.

Other than that, I enjoyed Might & Magic, some Ultima, and also Dragon Warrior on the original Nintendo.

Honorable mention to Secret of Mana. Don't remember if there was a follow-up to that game, but there certainly should have been.

I feel like I'm showing my age here, with most other people listing games from the last decade and I'm talking 20+ year old games.

I recently bought Quest For Glory from GOG and started playing Ep 1 again. It's really dated, but it holds up decently.

    ^ lol yep.

Overall: FFI -> FFX - (Finally Fantasy 7 is THE game tho.)

    notable mentions:
    Starocean I,II,III
    Xenogears/Xenosaga.
Breath of fire (III and IV) but lost it at dragonquater.
    Legend of Zelda

Pretty much every legacy squaresoft game.

Plug: I'm slowly working on my own series in my spare time hopefully one day it will make someones list :)

Secret of Mana is an all-around amazing game. I regret I never bought it on the Wii to play again.

Trial by Fire, the 2nd game in the series, is by far the best game in my opinion. It's the most linear of them all since certain events happen on specific days (you're free to roam in the other games), but the story and puzzles are some of the best.

Playing the Wizard is probably my favorite since the spells have some fun utility to them; it's not all blasting things with Flame Dart.

I also picked up the QFG series two Christmases ago and have slowly played them again. I really miss the Sierra adventure series. They helped get me into PC gaming.

And Leisure Suit Larry taught me a few life lessons as well.

    The Elder Scrolls.
First played Daggerfall (formally Elder Scrolls II, later tried Arena (ES I) but didn't care for it much)
All the way through to Morrowwind.
I also played Oblivion but didn't like it as much, haven't played Skyrim at all (was heavily into mmo / multiplayer by then)

    No earthbound shame...

    Here we go,
Morrowind nuff said Elder scrolls games are always a blast. Quest for glory is great if we can count adventure games too pretty much anything Tim Schafer made.

I like FF games but is it a crime to say 7 is overrated (or the series itself) tactics is the best imo then maybe 6 or 9. Xenogears is most likely my favorite jrpg then chrono trigger as a close second

to the op I like star ocean 1 and 2 didn't like the ones after for ruining the previous ones same could be said for arc the lad as well (jesus arc the lad 2 had a downer ending, speaking of downer terranigma damn).

little and super ninja bros was fun for nintendo and super nintendo and breath of fire series was good too.
