Question: How are you planning to improve the socialicing aspect of the MMO's out there? What systems will you use?
Asnwer from Jeremy Gaffney: In Wildstar we make people interact more with each other. For example we got paths. The Settler path can make campfires all over the world. Campfires will then give a Strenght bonus to any ally that stand near it. But with each person standing near the camfire the Settler will gain Settler exp. which they can then use for special/social rewards. So you need to place them correctly in order to get the rewards. That way people will find the way to get the highest amount of path exp. This will make questions pop like: ''Were can I help the most people?'' ''Who can I help the most?''. People will be fighting over who can help the most of people.

I do ponder the following though.

Does that mean that the 1-5 zones are instanced and Deradune is not or that Deradune is instanced? I would prefer as little instancing and as few loading screens as possible.

So does each race get its own 1-5 zone?

I think levels 1-5 are instanced to get your used to the game mechanics and the different features (path system being one example) then it dumps you into the larger world.

Can I just start this thread to say WOW oh my god look at that housing video!!! It looks awesome, now I'm so excited, I just want to play. Just blown away, don't know what else to say!

believe that it'll be like Nightsong said, 1-5 instanced. i believe that the world is all un-instanced and open (from what we've been told) so maybe like the first bit in GW2 getting you used to the controls, but then once you get out of there it's open-world like in Rift.

That disclaimer was just so funny. Love the devs for that!

I know i should feel chastined for watching too far into the video disclaimer, but I can't help but feel a kinship after reading the ingredients in the soda they were drinking. I drink soda like that too!

I love how it gets more and more ridiculous the further along you read. By the end, I think they give up caring about the disclaimer and just having a good laugh.

and that says a lot about the dev's doesn't it! If they are fun, then the game will reflect their humour and passion also, which can only be a good thing.

Yup, whatever happened to MMO's being about and having fun.

The disclaimer reminds me of the opening credits subtiles of monty python and the holy grail.

The housing piece does look incredible. The bonus rest xp, the customization, and the buff going into raids. Very pumped to give this a run.
