    What a sensible post, Brotoi.
Your comment about erotic RP makes me think of Goldshire and Silvermoon... *shudders*
I remember my first time entering Silvermoon. There were probably 30 half naked female Blood Elves just dancing on a table by the inn... and I had "General" turned off, but Holy Hannah... the bubbles that popped up were like fists in my eyeballs... I laughed, and almost cried, too...

    *That* is not role-play.

Ah, yes... Very true! I should have put that in there... I'm not against it, I just... Can't do it. Lol.

I love to be involved in RP. From simple stories while fishing to elaborate self made journeys and weddings. It's all good to me as long as it applies to the game world. I hope that this game is conducive to this type of play style.

I love to read, tell, and experience stories but I'm not exactly into acting them out. I love that others are and I have a toon or two on RP servers in some games but that's not really part of the game for me. However, I think a game of this level will have a RP server, along with a PvP server and possibly a C0-Op server. Good times.

    I hope you're right, Oak.
With a development team responsible for Vanilla WoW, I just see too much possibility for role-players.

I enjoy RP'ing my characters but I do not think that the population should be segregated and I will likely RP no matter the location of my characters.

Fair enough. Maybe I just came into RP late in the game of WoW and was spoiled by the RP servers. Personally, I find being around similarly interested players makes role-playing a bit easier. That's just me.

While I could not be always in the mood for staying "in-character", I always enjoy roleplaying. I need to give any of my characters some resemblance of a "backstory", because otherwise, I find the present mechanics of MMOs too artificial and repetitive, especially if we're talking about the common "theme park" ones ("sandbox" are another beast). Nothing too fancy, though, infact I prefer "casual" roleplaying, maybe with someone you stumble upon the road while doing quests or travelling.

Aye. "Casual" role-play is by far the most enjoyable. For me, anyways.
While going so in depth as to create a backstory for my character that details their life up until creation to include their family history, and all their known contacts and relations throughout that life COULD be fun... I've not the time nor patience to even undertake the task.

I'm a moderate roleplayer. I like to flesh my characters out a bit and find a consistent voice for each that is not my own, but I don't care to have everything laid out nor can I stay fully in character all the time in all channels. If I don't get to play the game as what it is as well, why am I even there?

(That last rhetorical question is specifically about me. I don't care if other people have their own standards.)

I don't RP personally, but I always roll on RP servers (esp RP-PVP servers) because I like others RP'ing. Love walking into a full bar of people all talking in RP, helps my personal immersion into the game.

This. I've roleplayed in the past but I kind of fell out of it all during WoW after a couple of server changes and discovering my new servers had these cliques that were absolutely impossible to get into - if you weren't one of their own, you weren't going to be. While I dislike this mentality, I can understand it as well - it seems that it often is the result of being harassed by non-roleplayers who have "infiltrated" their group by acting as expected and then bringing down a horde of ROFLCOPTER-type people to ruin their experience - but I still enjoy seeing people immersed in the game world.

It almost goes to the extent that I wish it were a spectator sport where you could make your character invisible and watch things unfold.

I think I might give roleplaying a shot again in WildStar, but I'm undecided still. Definitely leaning toward it at this point, though.

    'You *will* role-play in WildStar...'

    ...Poop. I forgot I wasn't a Jedi Knight.

@ Sean McAfee, I agree with you there. I love walking into a room and seeing some role-play going on. Without being a creep-a-potomous rex I'd sit and watch sometimes. It's fun sometimes when taking a break from questing, etc, to just go and enjoy some perks of a game such as sitting in a chair, drinking a flagon of mead, maybe doing some cooking and just watching the players around me play the game in their image.

"Well, there was, like, this one time, I was , like, bringing all these new plant samples back to the ship, and I almost got SHOT by some half-drunk Granok's turret. So, I was like 'What are you DOING?!', and he was like 'Securing, the, um, perimeter', or some other macho military gobbledy-gook like that. Fortunately for HIM, I was interrupted by some Stem Dragon, or else that Granok would've , like, you know, gotten an Aurin earfull, Itellyouwhat. "

Hey, *hic*, these Carrot-Cactus Coolers are kinda yummy...can I get another one?

    True story.;)

I enjoy roleplay, and glad to see others on the forum seeking eachother out. :]

A male Aurin Bartender? You sir, are awesome. I was going to have my Aurin be an Innkeeper and business woman.

Amazing. :3 Lols~ Also now I have a new comic to read in my free time! Thanks :3

Everyone needs to see Pornshire at least once, I think it is like /B/ in that regard. The point of the Internet is to ruin childhoods and steal innocence ( http://www.precociouscomic.com/comic.php?page=380 ). Just pray WoW stays alive and well, or else where else do you think all those people will go? Also I am pretty sure Pornshire is just like 4Chan, I mean just look at this definition: "The sphincter of the internet. Where integrity goes to die" (Urban Dictionary). Also sounds a lot like Pornshire doesn't it? :p

    Best. Story. Ever.
