Taking a cue from here: http://www.wildstar-central.com/ind...t-hopes-for-the-settler-path.1369/#post-20493, got me thinking about this:

So Settlers are basically intergalactic homesteaders, right? Well, what good is making your own little house on the Nexus prairie if you don't have your very own herd of livestock and a faithful alien companion to go with it?

We could even have a dumbed-down Pokemon system with battling, training, and breeding, and possibly a county fair where there are prizes for the fattest, biggest, and healthiest animals, just like in real life. We could also have Dog Shows with aliens, where the community votes on the most pimped out pets. (And hey: county fairs don't build themselves. Plenty of work server-wide, folks. :))

    There's also Path Synergy:

Soldier -- Getting rid of pesky den mothers so Settlers can capture hatchlings, eggs, and cubs. Also with escorting the other three paths.

Explorer -- Finding the nests and dens in the first place. Also with searching for the elusive rare candies and valuable herbs and organisms for the perfect feed.

Scientist -- Researching on the properties and behaviours of the animals to better facilitate domestication and breeding. Also useful for figuring out the best diets for the animals, and special effects of certain resources. Think moon shards on your Eevee for the acquisition of an Umbreon.

Would be interesting if they could work it in. Maybe even make it so that animals could be raised to be mounts. Not sure how you would distribute the animals/mounts to players though unless it was maybe a guild activity.

    Seems fun either way.

You know, I would just adore being able to breed a Mini-Metal Maw. Then supersizing it to add it to my Guild's War Plot. Raising Death Machines for the purpose of player-made Boss Instances? Yes, please.

I had very little interest in the Settler path until I talked to the devs at Pax East. Listening to them made me realize that their vision for this path was very social - that Settlers were expected to do things that would impact the world and help other players.

So yeah, I think a group of settlers all working together to create a county fair (which might give out buffs, rested xp, have unique foods, whatever) could possibly fit in that. It would be amazing IMO! :)

What I think would be great is that if you build settlements that steadily require maintenance to grow and stay persistent, so you could build a town for your guild that you fortify and generally flesh out, but then say in some sort of World PvP you could build a small temporary camp that gives your faction buffs when they are in range. That would of course be left behind and eventually disappear allowing that land to be re-used.
