I was at PAX last friday and I noticed something strange. I went to a reputation vendor and saw that there were seven different kinds of weapons available: Sword, Glaive, Claws, Pistol, Fist Weapon, "Engineer Weapon", and "Crook", the crook being some kind of staff or cane.

    Seventh class confirmed?

EDIT: I'm flattered that I'm getting so much attention. For those wondering: the Engineer Weapon was a big gun.

Claws and Fists are the same weapon, I believe.

Do we know which class glaives belong to yet?

    I love glaives.

As an educated I would say Warrior.

If each class had more than one weapon, I'd agree!

However, "Swords" are already on the list. Since each class is only getting one weapon, I'm not sure the word "Glaive" is taking on that particular meaning in this case. Although, if any one class were to have multiple weapons, I'm sure it'd be warriors.

Glaive is the Esper weapon, I imagine. It was one of those throwing blades.

Claws and Fist are not the same weapon. The fist weapon looked more like a Gauntlet. I was also playing as a Stalker at the time, and the weapon type was red, meaning unusable by my class.

So why was there seven weapons? A crook would make sense for a pure magic/sage-like class, which is currently absent from the lineup.

EDIT: The Engineer weapon was a big gun, by the way.

google "Throwing Glaive" and you'll find the esper style weapons.

so i'm willing to be that "fist weapons" and "claws" would be different styles of stalker weapon?

also, i'm excited with this news, "Engineer weapon" we can has engineers!!

The "Fist Weapon" could be an off-hand for one of the classes.

You don't feel that Espers are pure magic? Huh.

I don't think there's "Hands" in wildstar. Seemed like every class had one weapon.

    EDIT:
Not really. The name Esper is based off "ESP", or "Extra-Sensory Perception". It's psychic powers, which doesn't feel like magic.

Frankly I'm a little thrown off by the fact that Stalkers can tank. But hey these classes aren't like the classes we're used to seeing. Have to see how they play.

Well it is anyway because it uses the Magic attribute along with Wisdom.

These could be any number of things... it could be a melee weapon for this Mystic class to make them play like a monk (Doubtful). It could be an alternative weapon for a Stalker (possible). Or it could be what the arm cannon for a warrior is called (very possible).

    We'll have to see I suppose. ^^

Mayby it's just the name of a weapon of which they are not sure to put in the game?

Mayby they are trying out which name of a certain weapon looks better? So mayby in the Beta or when the game finaly comes you won't see that extra 1 of those 7 names ;)

Not everything always has to have a deeper meaning behind it, ofcourse it could be but it can also not be true.

It's not too far off of Druid tanks in WoW, and there was a straight up Rogue tank spec in Rift!
Even SWTOR had a stealth/tank class in the Shadow/Assassin!
We rogues know how to not get beaten up, it's practically second nature to us : P
