I like the Warrior class name. I think Warrior transcends any environment and takes on a true meaning of someone who charges in with no regret and delivers massive damage while able to take massive damage as well. A warrior is more the mentality of the character in conjunction with their actions.

    war·ri·or

    [wawr-ee-er, wawr-yer, wor-ee-er, wor-yer] Show IPA
    noun
    1. a person engaged or experienced in warfare; soldier.
    2. a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics.

Soldier is a name mentioned in the definition to give an example of a Warrior, but not all Warriors are soldiers. I think Warrior is vague enough not to leave anyone out however, complete enough to get across the actual intent of the abilities/mentality.

Warrior works because it's simple. Guys with big swords running around wreaking havoc = warriors. It still fits the setting of Wildstar, you don't have to be different for the sake of being different.

The folks at Carbine that named the stats might have something to say about that.

Your right it does not leave anyone out; if I play a primarily DPS Stalker, Spellslinger, Esper, Newclass, or Newclass, by this definition
I will be just as much a warrior as a Warrior is, and that has always been the problem with this as a class name to me.

Warrior just doesn't sound Wildstarish enough. It's sort of generic. Stalker sort of is too. I do like the way Juggernaut sounds though for a warrior. Big, mean, stomping squishing thing. It might not be perfect, but I do think it sounds better than warrior.

Esper is good. I like it and it brings a sci-fi feel. Spellslinger I actually do like. It's a good mix between thinking about casting spells and referencing old west gunfighters.

Ya Warrior could be something better.
Esper is completely made up, so sure it works.
Spellslinger in my opinion is the most imaginative
Stalker is pretty basic as well but fine I guess

I guess I am less interested in what they are called but how they play.

Actually, Esper is used in a couple of science fiction novels.

Stalker is, well. It's been used in games before. Maybe not as often as rogue.

    Spellslinger is neats!

Warrior is still....bland. Bland! Wildstar isn't bland! It's....uhm. Colorful!

Personally I don't care about class names at all. It doesn't change the way I play or what I'll play. I guess I can understand that it's important for others tho

    Meh, minor consideration IMO.

I've played games with more dull names, I've played games with more unique ones. Not much of a factor for me

Ya the name isn't any kind of deal breaker. The developers just seem so clever though. I feel like if they had thought about it they could have been more creative.

It's more like we want something to talk about while we stare unblinking at their official website for a release date. Or sleep outside their office doors in a cardboard box. Or follow them home.

warrior = fine.. al know what is it and what it does. If you call it Juggernaut or techFlinger, ppl start asking, what is a juggernaut? and then ppl will answer: "A juggernaut is like a warrior.."

    just keep it warrior :)

I mean Juggernaut is no more confusing than Esper, Spellslinger, Stalker. What is an esper one might ask. Well its a person who uses telekenises to create stuff blah blah blah you see my point. No more confusing.

Or why dont we just call it a Swashbuckler or Samurai? The reason Warrior is a good name is because its Generic people can make it out to mean anything they set their lovely little minds too. Yes alot of classes like Spellslinger aren't so generic but thats because they CANT be.

So a little generic-sim is good? People just finding the game will be like "What's a Spellslinger?" Then they see a warrior and are like "Oh, warrior. They hit things with sharp things. I think I'll try that first!"

    I would've liked Berserker.

Or Saber, if we want to rip off Fate Stay Night xD
