W* makes me think someone meant to type W8 but held down Shift too long

WS = WildStar (Which is what this game is)
W* = WildAsterisk (the actual translation of this stupid acronym, which is what this game is NOT)

It still sounds to me as if some Wild Asterix appeared:

W★ is better than W* but harder to use. I don't really mind what people use.

But I wonder if people will just start abbreviating it "WSO" (for WildStar Online) instead. Because people prefer acronyms that are 3 letters long. 2 is kinda too short most of the time.

Exactly. 3 letters long is the way to go. Only 2 letters risks having too much ambiguity.

W★ seems fun if not really hard to type, I like WS however. it seems more right, but I've used both in the past. just trying to fit in.

W* I can see how it could be a bit confusing at first but once people catch on there will be no mistaking what others are talking about.

as for WS this could mean so many different things to so many people. First thing that comes to mind for me is Weapon Skill since I played table top Warhammer 40k for years.

W* = two different ends of the keyboard.
WS = two keys right next to each other.
I'm lazy, WS all the way.. easy to understand and even easier to type...

Hmm, the first number seems to be close to the number of dominion members on these forums... go figure!

Let's talk about W*'s payment plan...

WS - wild saxophone, snob, sub, sos, sock, sissy, store, sudoku, [list goes on...]
W* - wild star (you can find this in dictionary), asterisk, [full stop]
There is much less chance for mistakes with W* (and it's cool like whole W* is and not old and boring no matter how correct, but I suppose dominion must keep everything in line :devilish: ).

Tau'huh? Whatever it is I'm sure I can handle it with my S5 WS6 A6 charge with my Frostblade. =P

actually Tau were my 2nd army. I needed something completely different gameplay from my beloved Spacewolves

Pretty much this, W* isn't that obvious, and it just feels like WS is more friendlier on the eyes. Don't know why.

WS is fine. But most of time when talking about it or referring to it I'm 99% sure I'll use ws. Capitalizing it requires too much work... lol Still implies WildStar since ws is not an actuakl word.
