Garrett Fuller had a chance to play WildStar at New York Comic Con pre-show. Writing for mmorpg, he shared his preview of the Stalker class. It can be read in its entirety here. This is the first in a series of articles.

I took the liberty of trimming the article down to focus on information about the Stalker. The article also included information about the Path system, namely the Explorer, but nothing new in that regard.

*The keys were locked at the convention as reported elsewhere. I imagine that Carbine wanted to give attendees more time to enjoy the game and less time spent bewildered by someone else's key mapping.

Edit - On a serious note, I have little interest in the Stalker. However, it's good to hear that stealth will have an in-combat use other than just to initiate combat.

I like the comparison that Fuller made to being in different stances. I hope there are three variations instead of two though. Out of stealth, stealth used when in combat (described by Fuller), and true/surprise stealth. The last being available when you stealth outside of an enemy's field of view. It should make for some deep rewarding gameplay if all three degrees of stealth have abilities/modifiers attached to them.

I really like the direction they are going with the Stalker even though I personally don't have any plans on playing one. Its nice to know they won't be all about locking other players down so they can't fight back.
