I captured some stills of all the merchant items that were in the demo at Gamescom. You'll notice a lot of the potions are class restricted.

Please note: The quality of these photos aren't exactly high as they were taken on my iPhone off the LCD displays at the NCsoft/Carbine booth.

Hmm. Two pistols count as "one" weapon. I wonder what that means for duel-wielding two different weapons. Might not exist. It is always possible they just did it that way because of the animations. I don't really care for duel-wielding anyway. 2handers ftw. :)

Its probably just for the Spellslinger-Class.

Note the description of the weapons is "Primary Weapon" - this means there is likely "Secondary Weapons" or other off-hand items to wield.

Yeah, I noticed that but I was thinking that the second slot would only be for shields or something. A few games have given duel-wielders a single weapon slot but two slots for sword & board.

By the looks of it, the dual pistols will be considered 1 weapon so you wont be able to have 1 pistol for main hand and another one for off hand. Maybe I am wrong but the name says pistols and not pistol which implies 2 guns.

Yes, and the secondary can be some sort of Indiana Jones laser-whip. lol. (you know, for melee, or something, because "pistol whipping" is so last century)

Some of the stats on these scare me a little. I know it's still early, but seeing what's typically end-game stats on starter items is... worrying. I thought the same about the amount of HP the demo characters had.

I guess there's some comfort in knowing launch is not imminent. But only some!

I get the feeling there are various scenarios that may cause this.

    1) We are looking at what we may consider high HP values even at the beginning, and endgame HP would just be much higher.
    2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1roP52Py7s
    3) They are making the potions OP for the purpose of the CON for some reason.

You have to remember there are no levels, so you can't perceive it the same way as level games.

Uh, where'd you get this from? There are levels, so yes, yes you can perceive it the same way.

Well, I guess I misunderstood. I thought I heard it on a video or read it. Obviously I am delusional.

I suspect that HP and values (and costs) have all been tailored so that people playing the demo don't die - if you die during the first ever outing of the game, it would likely leave a bad taste in the mouths of those trying it.

So, they bumped the stats. Seems logical to me :)

I had the feeling while playing that they made it a bit easier on us to survive combat during the demo. I felt like I could handle more than I thought I should be able to, based on other MMO experiences.

Well I was picking up a phone call while fighting monsters and was basically idling in front of the mob (which was still hitting me) and after hanging up the call (you couldnt understand a word anyways because of the idiot yelling on stage) I was still able to kill the mob and survive.
And without healing I could go on questing, with barely 10% of my HP

And I really think that was just for the demo...

I'm with the idea that the health was scaled up for the demo. I certainly hope that a level 1 character wouldn't have over 1,000 health. But hey, this is a new MMO. We'll see.

I think so too, the character felt just a bit to overpowered for a starting char.
