?

Should the trailer have a pre- and post- storyline?

  1. Heck yeah! Carbine Studios should put out a Blu-Ray!

  2. Meh, no. Let 'em concentrate on the MMO, they'e busy enough.

Well, we've all seen the Trailer, (at least a dozen times, amiright?), and it occurred to me: Carbine Studios obviously has a great storytelling ability- and the animation skills to back it up.

What would you, The Community, think of a "Wildstar" featurette movie, chronicling the story before (and after) the trailer? It seems to me that (in addition to everything else), they've got so much potential, in so many media formats, with Wildstar. Just sayin'.

Our 3 main protagonists have so much personality imbued in so small a timeframe, and yet become instantly familiar, and likable. It'd be a shame if our "poster children" were relegated to this brief instant of fame.

Feel free to blast me outta orbit, on this. ;)

A very interesting idea to be sure, but until the game goes live, I'd prefer to see them concentrating on it. After all, no matter how polished the demo looks at Gamescom, it is JUST a demo. That means this short concept test bed was polished over and over again to be all shiny and wonderful. Three characters, three settings, that's pretty limited. Come beta time I'm sure it'll be a completely different experience.

I would hope not, but I've done so many beta tests now that I'm jaded. The demo never represents the actual state of play.

The game reportedly had a lot of voice acting already in, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 3 protagonists make it ingame as some sort of NPC arrangement.

Out of curiosity, do we know that it was an entirely in-house cinematic? Is it possible they hired someone else for the animation, like say Blur Studios?

It makes sense, it reminded me a lot of their old "Rockfish" video, now that I think of it:

Why, I must respectfully disagree, it's *clearly* more like "In the Rough":

    ;) "Blur War" initiated. xD

    Haha.
I voted yes. Frankly, from what I saw, I'm more than ready and willing to pick up anything WildStar related. I could easily see some novels, comics, statues/toys, TCG, and other collectibles and entertainment products.
Though it's entirely early for those sorts of things, I think the potential is there.

I would love to see a movie that follows the adventures of the three characters from the game trailer.

I'd settle for a Graphic Novel- but I do want to see more of those three.

Truthfully while I DO like the characters there, I would prefer they put development resources towards the actual game.

Let their own story writers write the story.
Let somebody else make the movie.
